PARIS, France, January 20, 2022 (WNIPresswire) — In a time when network quality is more crucial than ever, Orange hit 6 million fibre customers in France this week. The new milestone illustrates the French people's great desire for Orange's landline internet network, which is the most stable and powerful network ever constructed. Orange staff connect with nearly 10,000 clients every day.

Orange offers Fiber and its products and services to households and businesses around the country, as part of its aim to be the carrier for all French people.

In terms of both volume and intensity, the fibre rollout in France is a massive industrial endeavour. Orange has delivered fibre to 63 percent of the 29 million premises eligible for FttH in France by the end of 2021, using its own funds and in collaboration with local governments. France is currently Europe's leading fibre country, with a 20 percent rise in premises in just one year.

Fabienne Dulac, CEO of Orange France says: "With 6 million customers, I am delighted about the widespread adoption of fiber. This result reflects the full mobilization of all the Orange France technical and sales teams and those of its partners across all our regions. Over half of all Orange internet customers in France now enjoy Fiber in the home or in their place of work. This success is based on our position as the leader in the deployment and our ability to connect 10,000 customers every day".

Orange will continue to work in all zones where it is responsible for fibre deployment in 2022, including both densely populated and AMII zones. According to the INSEE database, Orange exceeded the initial objective in AMII (call for expression of investment interest) zones, with over 11 million connectable households at the end of 2021.

Orange Chairman and CEO, Stéphane Richard, said: "Orange and France gambled on optical fiber over ten years ago now. A gamble that has paid off as France is currently the leading European country for fiber with it now available to 70% of the country, a feat made possible in large part by the men and women at Orange who have already deployed 63% of the existing FttH lines. Every day, our employees and partners help to build the network we will use for the next 50 years".
