Vaccinated Brits with two vaccine doses can visit France without a “compelling reason”

British visitors who have been properly vaccinated against coronavirus and have documentation of a negative test will be permitted to enter France without the requirement for a “compelling cause.”

People who are totally immunized – defined as two weeks after receiving the second dose of an EU-approved COVID-19 vaccine, which covers all jabs presently in use in the UK – will be eligible to travel to the nation and use the NHS app as proof of their status under new border restrictions.

According to a new document called Strategy for Reopening Borders that was released on Friday, people who are fully vaccinated – which is understood to mean two weeks after receiving the second dose of an EU-approved vaccine that covers all jabs currently in use in the UK – can use the NHS app as proof of their status.

Children accompanying fully vaccinated adults will not be required to obtain a vaccination, but will be required to provide a negative test result. While there is no precise age limit, the French government presently does not enforce travel prohibitions to children under the age of 11.

However, France remains on the UK’s amber list, which means that returning Britons must self-isolate at home for 10 days as part of coronavirus restrictions. People have also been advised not to visit nations in this category.

It comes after the British government tightened its limits on international travel with the contentious decision to remove Portugal off the green list of quarantine-free locations, causing visitors consternation.

Afghanistan, Bahrain, Costa Rica, Egypt, Sudan, Trinidad & Tobago, and Sri Lanka have also been added to the red list.
