The Official Charity Partner Program was introduced this week by NYCRUNS, one of the fastest growing consumer health and wellness organizations and the organizer of the 2022 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon. The 2022 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon will update the standard charity partner model for mass participatory races by offering more inclusive and consistent pricing throughout both the marathon and half marathon, reduced fundraising minimums, and no charity partner costs.
Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 of the program will each have different rewards and entry allocations. Most notably, as part of Tier 3, dubbed Community Partners, NYCRUNS will provide 1,000 free race entry to local 501(c)3 charitable organizations in New York City and the Tri-State area that have been touched by the Covid-19 outbreak. Local organizations having an annual operational budget of less than $1 million will be offered free entries.
“NYCRUNS wants to support our local and community focused non profit organizations, who have been badly hurt by Covid-19 from a fundraising perspective,” says Steve Lastoe, the founder and CEO of NYCRUNS. “We hope that our race can provide a free and robust fundraising avenue for them in 2022 and beyond.”
“BK Style is about building bridges,” said Rick Davy, Founder and Director of BK Style Foundation, one of the Neighborhood Charity Partners. “We are excited to work with NYCRUNS to build bridges in our community so champions can run or walk across to success.”
CAMBA, which will benefit from the NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K on marathon weekend, and NYU Langone Health will be two of the prominent Tier 1 Signature Charity Partners of the 2022 Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon. Both organizations will get race entries as well as exclusive runner rewards available only to Tier 1 Signature Charity Partners.
The 2022 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon, which is expected to attract over 25,000 runners, will be one of the largest running events in the city and one of the largest in the country.
CAMBA President & CEO Joanne M. Oplustil commented, “As a proud partner since 2014, CAMBA is thrilled to once again team up with NYCRUNS for this legendary Brooklyn marathon weekend. We have felt an increased sense of community and Brooklyn pride after the last 20 months fighting the pandemic and are extremely thankful for your support in helping struggling New Yorkers.”
