Brothers4Change, an online retailer founded by two brothers Samuel and Jonas Smis, is helping to make education more accessible in developing countries.
With its core mission to help improve access to education in Africa and beyond, the founders developed the platform with the goal of creating a marketplace that could fund programs in various countries. Having seen extreme poverty in Soweto during a stay in South Africa, the two brothers, who are Belgian, are aiming to make their platform a leader in supporting educational programs.
Providing a host of products from electronics to sports equipment, lighting fixtures and garden furniture, the founders have built their marketplace from the ground up with a focus on giving back through every purchase made. Shoppers can get free delivery on orders with shipments being made across Europe through leading couriers including FedEx, DHL, UPS, Postnl and Bpost.
Brothers4Change: Helping Others
Having set themselves the objective to reduce their operating costs in order to give more of their profits away, the two brothers have been forging ahead with an ambitious drive to educate 10,000 children by the end of 2022. The company is currently working to provide assistance to students in the Kivu region in the Congo, funding solar lighting, clean water and school buildings.
Ahead of the busy Christmas season, the online retailer recently revealed a host of new product ranges including electric scooters and smart TVs with high demand for gifting as Europe’s economy rebounds. With weekly discount offers, the platform is also providing users with high quality products that can be ordered in one click.
10% of all sales is being used to make education more accessible. Brothers4Change aims to expand their work beyond the Congo to other countries within the next years.
